WWE plans to call Zilla Fatu up from NXT to RAW or SmackDown shortly after his August debut.

Zilla Fatu Not Expected to Stay in WWE NXT Long

Zilla Fatu’s time in NXT could be very short-lived. Just over two weeks after his official debut, WWE is already planning to call him up to the main roster.

According to WrestleVotes Radio, via Fightful Select, there’s an internal expectation that Fatu will be moved to RAW or SmackDown “before long.” Those within WWE believe pairing him with his cousins early in his run with the company could set the stage for long-term success.

The groundwork is already being laid. A promotional vignette for Fatu aired during the August 24 episode of RAW. According to WrestleVotes, the video wasn’t just meant to promote NXT Heatwave but also served as an introduction for main roster viewers who aren’t yet familiar with him.

Fatu made his official NXT debut on August 11, crashing the match between Grayson Waller and Cruz Montana and attacking both men. The following week, he signed his contract and was added to the Fatal 4-Way for the NXT Championship at Heatwave.

Sunday’s match on August 30 will be Zilla Fatu’s in-ring debut in WWE. Tony D’Angelo will defend the NXT Championship against Fatu, Waller, and Montana.

Even The Rock has publicly shown support for Fatu, as previously reported here on Wrestling Noticias.
