Add as a preferred source on Google Lyra Valkyria made it clear that beating Bayley was only the first step in her push back to the top of WWE RAW’s women’s division.
During Monday’s episode of RAW at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, Sol Ruca is in the middle of an interview with Byron Saxton when the former champion cuts her off. Valkyria says she doesn’t care who wins next week’s match between Ruca and Raquel Rodriguez, because she plans to go after the Women’s Intercontinental Championship again.
The message came two days after Valkyria ended her rivalry with Bayley at Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden. Despite suffering a cut to the face in the opening minutes, she won by referee stoppage, leaving Bayley unconscious with a modified sleeper hold. Valkyria then resumed her attack after the match had ended.
A new shot at the title against Ruca would also be a direct continuation of what happened on June 8, when Valkyria got a title opportunity but lost to the champion on RAW.
The match announced for next week, meanwhile, will be a rematch from July 6. Ruca retained the title against Rodriguez after IYO SKY neutralized interference from Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez, clearing the way for the Sol Snatcher that decided the match.
WWE has not yet made it official when Valkyria will get her next opportunity. Her stance, though, indicates that the winner of Ruca vs. Rodriguez will already have a possible challenger waiting.
